This weekend : Art Attack

The art-show season is in full force! One of the biggies, Art Attack, is this weekend, and I’m lucky enough to have snagged a fantastic studio to exhibit in. The show is called “A Kiss with a Fist” and is at ART459 in the Northrup King Building.

Here’s info on the three-day event. I hope to see you there! I have several brand new mixed-media shadowboxes that I will be debuting at this show. I’m excited for you to see them.

This weekend : H.E. Art Emporium

No plans this weekend? Looking for some unique artwork for your home? Then head to the Minneapolis Convention Center for the H.E. Art Emporium, which is part of the Home Improvement & Design Expo and the Healthy Life Expo, which are both going on this weekend. Find me in this special section of artists, in Hall C. I’ll be showing all new, never-seen-before mixed-media shadowboxes, plus my State Icons.

Look at this mess! That can mean only one's shadowbox-making time.

Look at this mess! That can mean only one thing…it’s shadowbox-making time.

At the H.E. Art Emporium, you’ll also find my friends Josephine Geiger of J.A. Geiger Studio, and Cindy Lindgren, plus lots of other local artists.

I’ll be there both Saturday and Sunday, from 10-5 both days, so there’s plenty of time to make it to the event. I’d love to show you my new work. Maybe you can find a piece for that spot on your wall at home. You know the one–it’s the one that’s just begging for a piece of handmade art!

This weekend : Saint Paul Art Crawl

It’s hard to believe, but it’s true: it’s already time for the Fall edition of the Saint Paul Art Crawl. I’m showing my mixed-media shadowboxes and Minnesota Icons at AZ Gallery in the Northern Warehouse Building.

I Don’t Need You Anymore (Come Back) by Christy Johnson, redshoes26 design

I have about eight new shadowboxes that have had limited exposure, and one brand new one that hasn’t been displayed before. I’m excited to show you my  new work!

The cool thing about AZ Gallery is, they celebrate the Crawl all month long, not just the “official” weekend of Oct. 12-14. So my work went up last week and will be at the gallery through Oct. 21 (you can see it outside of the Crawl during regular gallery hours).

Come see my pieces, as well as the fabulous work of the gallery members (my favorites are DC Ice and Jen Hanlon Ash), as well as fellow guest artists Larissa Loden and Michael Schmidt.

I’ll see you there!
