Words, Music, and Art

If you’re looking for something fun and non-holiday-esque to do, consider checking out the current production at Park Square Theatre in St. Paul. Through Dec. 29, you can take in a show of Words by…Ira Gershwin. According to the Park Square Theatre, the show will introduce the audience to Ira Gershwin and explore “the creative process of song writing.”

Filled with pride

I’m very excited to announce that *two* of my mixed-media shadowboxes were chosen to be part of the 2013 Twin Cities Pride Art Exhibition, which will be displayed at the 2013 Twin Cities Pride Grand Marshal Reception on Friday, June 21, 2013, at The Aloft Hotel Minneapolis, and during the 2013 Twin Cities Pride Festival on June 29-30 in Loring Park.

Not only will my pieces, Please Come With Me (below, left) and I Choose You (below, right), be a part of the exhibition, but they’ll also be up for Best of Show, People’s Choice, and Chairman’s Choice awards.

This weekend : Art Attack

The art-show season is in full force! One of the biggies, Art Attack, is this weekend, and I’m lucky enough to have snagged a fantastic studio to exhibit in. The show is called “A Kiss with a Fist” and is at ART459 in the Northrup King Building.

Here’s info on the three-day event. I hope to see you there! I have several brand new mixed-media shadowboxes that I will be debuting at this show. I’m excited for you to see them.

This weekend : H.E. Art Emporium

No plans this weekend? Looking for some unique artwork for your home? Then head to the Minneapolis Convention Center for the H.E. Art Emporium, which is part of the Home Improvement & Design Expo and the Healthy Life Expo, which are both going on this weekend. Find me in this special section of artists, in Hall C. I’ll be showing all new, never-seen-before mixed-media shadowboxes, plus my State Icons.

Look at this mess! That can mean only one thing...it's shadowbox-making time.

At the H.E. Art Emporium, you’ll also find my friends Josephine Geiger of J.A. Geiger Studio, and Cindy Lindgren, plus lots of other local artists.

I’ll be there both Saturday and Sunday, from 10-5 both days, so there’s plenty of time to make it to the event. I’d love to show you my new work. Maybe you can find a piece for that spot on your wall at home. You know the one–it’s the one that’s just begging for a piece of handmade art!
